Who is Kathryn Fletcher?
Kathryn is a native of the Southern Tier who graduated from Windsor Central High School in 2004. After deciding to pursue a bioengineering degree at Binghamton University, she assumed graduation would mean leaving the area to find related job opportunities. However, through being enrolled in an entrepreneurial program and leading a student-led economic think tank, she started to identify opportunities locally and has engaged in several community-enhancing projects and initiatives.
Highlights from the past few year's of Kate's 'Bizi' Life...
- 2007-2009 - Led Binghamton University's Catalysts for Intellectual Capital 2020 (CIC2020) as student Director
- May 2008 - Graduated with honors from the only accredited bioengineering program in the US that focuses on complex systems & evolutionary design
- July 2008 - Appointed graduate student research assistant in BU's biomedical engineering department
- Aug. 2008 - Joined H2 Innovations, Inc. as the start-up company's CEO
- Sept. 2008 - Co-hosted the Binghamton Blowout Block Party (on behalf of CIC2020)
- Nov. 2008 - Became one of the first tenants in the Greater Binghamton Innovation Center
- Feb. 2009 - Recognized as Southern Tier Opportunity Coalition's 20 in their Twenties distinguished honoree
- May 2009 - Appointed to We Live NY (formerly known as the NYS Young Leaders Congress)
- June 2009 - Won Binghamton's 1st Annual BLDC/EAP Business Plan Competition
- July 2009 - Attended the World Future Society Conference in Chicago, IL
- Sept. 2009 - Co-hosted and sponsored the Binghamton Communiversity Fest (on behalf of H2 Innovations)
- Oct. 2009 - Co-sponsored the first in a series of "Party With a Purpose" events
- Jan. 2010 - Invited to join the Binghamton Regional Sustainability Coalition for Transition US training
- Feb. 2010 - Appointed board member for the Binghamton Local Development Corporation
- April 2010 - Founded a new start-up company, BiziLife Ventures
